Hello! Welcome to the blog of the Shields Ethridge Heritage Farm.
We are an outdoor, agricultural museum that functions as an educational and interpretative facility in northeast Georgia and covers 152 acres. The Shields-Ethridge Heritage Farm Foundation, Inc. was created in 1994 as a non-profit organization established to preserve the existing buildings, which are on the National Register of Historic Places.
Currently, we're planning for our annual Mule Day celebration on May 4th. Joyce Ethridge started the celebration in the 1990s so that people could see demonstrations of everyday happenings on a farm, including black-smithing, plowing, basket-making, and quilting. This year, we plan on having some of the same demonstrations and are adding a few new faces!
